About this deal

For fans of geometric LEGO builds, there are plenty of satisfying cross-sections like these hidden within the turrets. What an upgrade, unlike 75159 Death Star, I really thought that that’s what would happen with this set – the 2016 one just maybe some new colours, but no, completely redesigned, completely new figures. Wow. Wow. Wow.” concludes Ashnflash, disagreeing overall. It’s hard to move and display but looks great Image: Tiago Catarino The set’s 4,837 pieces don’t feature any wholly new element molds beyond a few of the princesses’ hairpieces, but there are lots of recolors and a few new prints. The most obvious new additions are a huge swath of elements in light nougat. Some of these have appeared before, but many of them are new to this set, and you’ll get a heaping helping of them: 471 light nougat pieces in total, excluding minifigure elements.

Talking about her role as the Creative Design Lead for LEGO | Disney, Benedikte Stamp said, “Over the last century, Disney has created some of the world’s greatest stories which are loved by generation after generation. Just like these stories, LEGO play transcends age, language, culture and interests to inspire millions of children to build and create anything they can image. As a designer, it’s my role to bring together the magic of the two brands and give fans of all ages the chance to celebrate their love for Disney stories through building.” She also comes with the new Rapunzel hairpiece, which was introduced this year and looks great, with a whole lot more volume in her braids, and has the benefit of being made of hard plastic instead of the usual rubbery material. We currently know what the smallest set of the lineup will consist of, with Disney’s Frozen making a pretty appropriate appearance in the Disney 100th anniversary wave. Though the rest of the creations are still up in the air as of now. LEGO Disney 100th anniversary Disney Princess sets: Thankfully for someone like me who is not a huge Disney nerd, the instructions kindly point out each and every one of the Easter eggs,” claims Cheesey Studios. The three remaining murals will be available for families to build together at free events on July 7th-9th near the LEGO Store, Paris; July 14th-16th at the Manchester Arndale and July 27th-29th at Pier 17, The Seaport in New York. There is also an opportunity to create a LEGO castle window online at www.LEGO.com/castle, or visit a local LEGO Store to take part in LEGO | Disney building activities (visit www.lego.com/store for more details). The four complete murals will then be displayed at LEGO House in Billund from 23rd August 2023.

Distinctive gift – The castle measures over 80 cm (31.5 in.) high, 59 cm (23 in.) wide and 33 cm (13 in.) deep, and makes a fun gift idea for yourself or anyone with a passion for Disney films This one’s a strange one – the diagram says its Sleeping Beauty’s bed, but the purple bedsheets feel a bit more like Rapunze’s bed, according to my daughter, the resident Disney Princess expert. But my favourite Easter Egg is this cache of Walt Disney references, hidden inside one of the tower roofs.

About half of the bags are contained in an inner box, though they’re sadly not sorted by bag number—something LEGO has been frustratingly inconsistent about—so you’ll need to dump out all the bags to get started. There are 38 bags across 25 numbered sections, plus one unnumbered bag of large elements. Some newer sets we’ve opened have shifted to using unique bag numbers for every bag; that is, instead of having three bags labeled “1” like this set, they would be numbered 1, 2, and 3, respectively, and the numbers would simply run higher for the whole set. This is something more sets should adopt, especially when there are as many bags as this set has because it’s not always clear if any given number has more than one bag. This has been the only 100th anniversary Disney set that I’ve bought so far, and I honestly can’t think of a better one to buy. The Disney Castle is the most Disney thing that the LEGO Group could have made this year, and the old-school blue and gold color palette captures the magic in a way that the original model just didn’t. Prince Naveen is great, coming with epaulettes and a yellow cape, and a great expression. It’s a great pairing that will delight Princess and the Frog fans, but it’ll be a shame if this is his only appearance in minifigure form. The new LEGO | Disney Castle is a celebration of the playful joy and creativity that the LEGO Group and Disney have inspired in families around the world over the past 24 years. Since the first LEGO Winnie the Pooh set was unveiled in 1999 to the hidden time capsule in the new LEGO | Disney Castle, the two brands have helped fans share the wonder of Disney storytelling by inspiring children, and adults, to reimagine fan-favourite moments through LEGO play.

The new LEGO Disney Castle (43222) is also at London Bridge to see, how long it’ll be there is unknown. The set marks Flynn Rider and Rapunzel’s first outing as LEGO minifigures, and because of Tangled’s popularity and recency, makes this the most sought-after minifigure duo from this set. Her light blue dress doesn’t suffer from the same colour inconsistencies as a Snow White, as the flesh-coloured print is a much closer match, and and she even comes with a brand new hairpiece which is a much closer take on her hairstyle.Tiago notes that finding a place big enough to keep 43222 Disney Castle is going to be a challenge in itself too. She’s not included in the set, but there’s the Magic Mirror from Snow White, which is the perfect place for the Evil Queen. For those that missed out on the 2016 Disney Castle, this is a huge upgrade and well worth buying, but if you already have the original, unless you can afford it, I don’t think it’s very practical to display two enormous LEGO Disney Castles simultaneously. Disney Princess fans will love exploring this set, with its 8 LEGO minifigures and an impressive, detailed castle full of classic film referencesDisney 100 Years of Wonder (or Disney100 for short) is being celebrated across the world at Disney Parks and Resorts. And last but not least, there’s a nice nod to the Disney World Castle, where there’s a tiara on display in the upper levels. You can disassemble it slightly to make moving it around much easier because it is very tall it’s a little scary to carry around, though it’s plenty sturdy I assure you.” agrees Cheesey Studios. Personally, I like this colour scheme a bit better as I love the nougat, blue and sand blue combination and generous gold accents. The set comes with Prince Charming, Cinderella, Prince Naveen, Tiana, Flynn Rider, Rapunzel, Prince Dorian and Snow White, most of whom (with the exception of Tiana) are making their debut as LEGO minifigures, which makes this a must-have if you aim to collect every single Disney minifigure.
